You might be wondering, What is this about?

This is a Contests Site. All sorts of contests. tons of different contests. if there isn't a contest for it, you can probably get one set up without problems.
Photography contests. "Best Model Photograph, Male, Female, Child, cat" "Best Nature Photograph, Sunset or rise, landscape, tree's, clouds, mountains, whatever". Best Poem, with about 20 different categories. best short story. Photoshopping contests, with the subject based on current events. Best song lyrics, various categories. best audio recording, various musical categories. best garage band music video, various categories. best dance video, various different categories. best comedy skit, audio or video. Best Air Guitar, skateboarding, juggling, etc.
People can also sponsor contests; vanity contests "best audio recording of this song I wrote", "best logo for my business", etc. all winners are determined by member votes. Once a year "best-of" contests, from the monthly winners.

Why?

Well, for one thing, it sounds like fun. Yes, some people do things for this reason.

It's not going to cost me much; the Prize money I'm putting up isn't going to be big, it's going to be pretty small. Unusually for me, I'm also going to put some limited advertising on the site to help pay for things. I also sort of expect other people to get involved and sponsor contests like I mentioned above; in the area of CGI graphics, I already have some people planning to put up some respectable prize money.

I'm also setting up a store, where you can purchase things associated with the contests; if you have no idea what I'm talking about, go check out Cafe press.

If, for some strange reason, money coming in starts getting bigger than money going out, it's going to mainly mean bigger prizes, a better server, and possibly some better code; I would try to set this up as a non-profit if it wasn't so difficult to do.
